Tropical rain showers this weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was another day of stifling heat and humidity across the Coastal Bend.

We made it up to 97 degrees this afternoon as we did have a few isolated showers that popped up across our area.

We can expect similar weather conditions again on Thursday as the forecast for tonight calls for partly cloudy skies and mild weather conditions with a low around 77.

It will be mostly sunny and hot on Thursday with a daytime high of 96 with winds blowing out of the east at 10 to 15 mph.

The tropical wave we have been talking about all week is set to arrive along the Texas coast late on Friday.

It is likely to be at least a tropical depression, but also has the possibility of strengthening into a tropical storm.

Either way, it appears we could be in for a very wet weekend as some areas will see between 2 and 3 inches of rain.

Other areas could get up to 4 to 6 inches of rain.

We could also see some gusty winds with the system as the heavy rain will be possible through early next week.
