CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Upper level high pressure now beginning to move north is allowing deep tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico to begin spilling into the Coastal Bend late this week, giving lower maximum temperatures and slight rain chances.

Those rain chances will continue into the middle of next week.

Uncomfortable heat indices were much more isolated this afternoon than in previous days, and will be diminishing even further on Thursday. Friday through the middle of next week, expect isolated rain showers to accompany temperatures that will be near normal for this time of the year.

Rainfall totals will be modest, but highs in the lower 90s will be welcome relief. Lows will remain in the middle to upper 70s.
