CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A weak upper-level disturbance is pushing south through the Coastal Bend late today, producing scattered showers and thunderstorms.

The rain chances end by sunset, and the rest of the week looks hot and dry.

Tropical moisture returns next week, and with it, isolated- to- scattered showers and storms.

The atmosphere over the region will be too stable and dry Wednesday through Saturday to produce rain, but by Sunday, deepening tropical moisture allows isolated showers to return.

Expect a disturbance moving through the Gulf of Mexico to bring a good chance of significant rainfall by Tuesday.

We will be watching this disturbance carefully for development over the next several days.

Highs will remain in the 90s, with lows in the 70s.
