CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Skies were partly cloudy over the Coastal Bend late today, with scattered showers and thunderstorms peppering the region.

While no significant rain is expected on Friday, a cold front will send temperatures down 15 to 20 degrees. After a warmup Sunday into Tuesday, colder air arrives for midweek.

The upper level disturbance that brought the showers and storms today will move out tomorrow, and the cold front late in the day will not be able to generate more than a few showers. Temperatures will dip some 15 to 20 degrees Friday night and Saturday, but a quick rebound is expected Sunday through Tuesday.

Another, more powerful cold front arrives late Tuesday to send the mercury to its lowest levels so far this fall. Scattered to numerous showers will accompany the midweek cool down.

Highs will warm from the 70s Saturday to the 80s Sunday through Tuesday before plunging into the 60s and 50s Wednesday and Thursday. Lows in the 60s and 70s will fall to the 40s and 50s Tuesday through Thursday.
