The upper level heat ridge moves into the Great Basin early Monday and allows a weak cold front to move south through Texas, bringing isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Coastal Bend.
Temperatures will dip only slightly with the front and little additional rain is expected through Saturday.
Although the upper level ridge relocates well to our northwest, its impact keeps the Coastal Bend hot through midweek.
Gradually easing temperatures late week will be associated with some increase in tropical moisture, which will allow isolated showers by Thursday.
A more prominent disturbance brings scattered thunderstorms next Sunday.
Look for highs in the upper to middle 90s this week, dipping to the lower 90s over the weekend. Lows will range from the upper to middle 70s.
