CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — A shallow dome of very cold polar air has overspread Texas today, leaving temperatures at wintertime levels and encased the northwest half of the State in an icy travel mess.
The cold air will linger statewide through midweek, with a slow recovery by Friday. Wind will remain generally out of the north for the remainder of the work week, but skies clear by midday Wednesday as an upper level trough moves east of the region.
Expect no additional rainfall through early next week. Temperatures will remain cool to mild for this time of the year, with highs in the 70s to near 80 and lows in the 50s.
