CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Spring-like warmth accompanied humid southeasterly winds over the Coastal Bend late today ahead of a strong Polar front.

That front should arrive around 10 pm and send temperatures tumbling into the lower 40s by daybreak tomorrow. Only a few coastal showers are expected, but a Gale Warning is posted for the coastal waters tonight for northerly winds gusting above 40 knots.

Windy, cold conditions will prevail Christmas Eve, with a gradual warming trend beginning Christmas Day. However, a widespread light freeze is expected Christmas morning before winds become southerly and begin to moderate temperatures.

Highs return to the 70s Saturday through the middle of next week. The next chance of rain will be with an upper level disturbance Tuesday and Wednesday.
