CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coastal Bend skies will remain mostly sunny through the work week as upper-level high pressure to our west and northwest imparts summertime heat and traps humidity, but a weak tropical wave suggests weekend rain chances.

The upper-level ridge will gradually shift from West to Northwest Texas through midweek, then move into the Ozarks toward the weekend.

That shift will allow a weak tropical wave to migrate from the Florida Straits westward through the Gulf of Mexico to arrive on the lower Texas Coast by early Saturday.

Expect isolated showers late Friday, becoming scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday before rain chances dwindle on Sunday.

Meanwhile, afternoon temperatures will hover in the lower to middle 90s, with heat indices of 105 to 109 degrees.

Overnight readings will dip into the middle to upper 70s. Some patchy fog will settle into the interior Coastal Bend early Tuesday.
