CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Showers and thunderstorms will bring welcome cooling and relief to parched Coastal Bend soil by late in the week, but the heat and humidity will persist through Thursday.
High pressure trapping Gulf moisture will prompt more heat advisories Wednesday and Thursday.

By Friday, a weak cold front approaches, supporting scattered thunderstorms that will persist through the weekend.
A tropical wave moving northwest from the Bay of Campeche will extend our rain opportunities through Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will become isolated Monday and Tuesday.
Highs remain in the 90s and lows in the 70s, but expect lower 80s tonight and again Wednesday night.
