CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We've had a string of cold fronts make their way into the Coastal Bend over the last several weeks giving us some cooler temperatures and making it feel that much more like the holiday season.
It's hard to believe that Christmas is only eight days away.
If you are a fan of those "cooler" temperatures, then you'll want to enjoy today because we'll be looking at some milder temperatures headed our way.
The Freeze Warnings that are in effect for our northern counties (Live Oak, Bee and Refugio) will expire at 8 a.m. It is on the cold side to start off, so grab the jacket and stay bundled up to keep warm.
Once we get sunrise going, it will be a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and near seasonal highs temperatures. Here in Corpus Christi, we'll look for a high of 65 with east-northeasterly winds of 6-12 mph.
Tonight, the humidity will start to come back, and winds will take more of an east-southeasterly turn and usher in moisture off the Gulf of Mexico.
So, it won't be quite as cold tomorrow morning and it will be more humid. Overnight lows will drop into the 40s.
Friday we'll introduce more clouds and it will be windy with south-southeasterly winds around 15-25 mph. Afternoon highs will also shoot up into the low 70s.
This is in advance of our next cold front that will move in by midday on Saturday. There will be a few isolated showers ahead and along the front, but the big rains will stay to our north and out in the Gulf. We'll just see mainly the cloud coverage.
Sunday, we'll see high temperatures come down a degree or two in the upper 60s. But going into next week, we'll see a string of the milder and warmer temperatures with highs in the low to mid 70s with a good mix of clouds and sunshine.
Morning lows will still begin on the cool side in the 40s and 50s.
