Hurricane Delta is forecast to become a major hurricane as it heads northwest and into the Gulf tomorrow and toward Louisiana late this week.

We are not expected to be impacted directly but will see increasing swells and a higher rip current risk along with minor coastal flooding.

Our weather looks mainly dry through the week except for a stray coastal shower chance Thursday into early Friday as tropical moisture increases. Temperatures will increase, reaching the lower 90s by the weekend but another cold front moving through early next week will cool us back down.

Today will be sunny and very warm with a high of 89 and east winds at 8-15 mph this afternoon. Tonight looks mild with a low of 63 and light winds.

Abundant sunshine Wednesday will boost temperatures to near 90 with northeast winds up to 12 mph.

We'll see a few more clouds Thursday with a high near 90.
