CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Persistent upper level ridging and relatively dry mid-levels of the atmosphere are keeping rain away from the Coastal Bend the rest of this week, and for most of the weekend.

With the ridge that refuses to move, expect mid- to upper 90s Wednesday through Saturday, with heat indices near 110 degrees.

Rain chances along the sea breeze have shifted to northeast of the Coastal Bend, where moisture is more plentiful and the ridge less dominant.

A trough diving through the Southern Plains early next week will bring isolated showers Sunday and Monday, then scattered thunderstorms next Tuesday.

Highs will remain in the middle 90s, with lows in the upper 70s.
