The official beginning of summer is still a week away but it already feels like it in south Texas. This weekend will be mostly sunny and seasonably hot inland and warm at the beaches with fairly low humidity for June. If you're heading outside this weekend, you'll want sun protection and sunscreen SPF 30 or higher. Mosquitoes will be very active due to the warm air and light winds so bug repellent with Deet would also come in handy. Don't forget to say hydrated and drink plenty of water. Winds will shift to the southeast next week and the onshore flow will cause our humidity to climb. There is still no meaningful rain in the forecast in the next 7 days as a dome of high pressure aloft keeps our air stable.
Tonight: Clear with lows in the mid-upper 60s inland to the mid 70s beaches and light and variable wind.
Saturday & Sunday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 90s inland, low 90 in Corpus Christi and mid to upper 80s at the beaches with northeast to east winds up to 15 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 90s inland, near 90 in Corpus Christi and mid to upper 80s at the beaches with east-southeast winds at 10-18 mph. Humidity will be slightly higher keeping overnight lows in the 70s with some low clouds late.
