A heat advisory is in place this afternoon with blistering heat indices blasting the Coastal Bend.

The advisory will last until 8 p.m. with heat index indices up to 112 in place.

We’ll have another dry work week ahead of us with above average temperatures as high pressure aloft remains in control of our weather.

Expect abundant sunshine and southeast winds at 10-20 mph with hot, humid afternoons.

Daily heat indices will reach 110 to 113 inland with105-109 at the coast.

Today: Mostly sunny with a high of 96 in Corpus Christi and 101-106 inland and beaches in the upper 80s.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with lows in the mid to upper 70s and southeast winds at 7-14 mph.

Tuesday: Continues very hot, humid and dry with a high of 97 in Corpus Christi to 105 inland and upper 80s beaches with southeast winds at 10-20 mph and heat indices of 105-113.
