CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Upper-level high pressure over Northwest Texas remains the dominant weather feature this afternoon, bringing more seasonably hot and humid conditions with little-to-no rainfall.
By Friday, however, a weak tropical wave begins a weekend of isolated to scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.
Evening when the showers and storms arrive, very small amounts of rainfall are anticipated. With afternoon temperatures in the lower- to- middle 90s, heat indices will climb to between 105 and 109 degrees.
Isolated showers associated with the tropical wave will move ashore late Friday and increase to become scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday before ending early Sunday. Overnight lows will dip only into the upper 70s.
