CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Polar high pressure has settled into Central Texas in the wake of Sunday's rain and snow storm, and temperatures remain much lower than normal.
It will be near freezing tonight for the inland Coastal Bend areas, but a slow warming trend begins Tuesday. In fact, the mercury will surge into the lower 70s by Thursday, ahead of a dry cold front that will return near normal readings through the end of the week. By next Sunday, a powerful upper level storm system will move enough moisture into the region to generate at least scattered showers.
Expect highs in the 60s and lower 70s, except for 50s on Tuesday. Lows remain in the 40s to lower 50s, except middle 30s Tuesday morning.
