CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A large dome of Canadian high pressure has settled into the eastern half of the U.S., giving fair and cool conditions.
The high will drift eastward through the week, eventually tapping the Gulf of Mexico to support chances by early next week. A slow warming trend is expected through the week.
Temperatures will top out in the 70s to near 80 over the next seven days, with lows moderating from the 50s tonight and Tuesday into the 60s thereafter.
A cold front Sunday evening will send the mercury down by about 5 to 8 degrees. With marginal amounts of moisture, rainfall Sunday and Monday will be less than a quarter of an inch.
