CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Tropical Storm Beta is approaching the Middle Texas Coast, and will make landfall near Matagorda Bay tonight.

Ample rainfall and tropical storm force wind will accompany the storm with the biggest impact northeast of the Coastal Bend.

Expect most precipitation to end my midday Tuesday, then skies will clear.

Many Coastal Bend locales already have received more than an inch of rainfall from Beta, and with the storm making landfall overnight additional locally heavy rain is expected.

Tropical storm force onshore flow will keep coastal flooding in place through midday Tuesday, but after the storm exits the rest of the week will be fair and warm.

Isolated showers will return on Sunday. Highs will be in the 80s to lower 90s, with lows in the 70s.
