Watching the tropics for TS Gamma and Delta

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Skies remain fair over the Coastal Bend late today as the combination of upper level high pressure and a stable, dry environment prevent any chance of precipitation.

The next few days will feature mild nights and warm afternoons.

Tropical Storms Gamma and Delta should not impact the Coastal Bend other than producing long period swells and some beach erosion.

Tropical Storm Gamma is undergoing wind shear and will not survive the next few days. Delta will intensify to become a hurricane as it approaches the Gulf of Mexico, then absorb Gamma's remnants as it turns north toward the Mississippi Delta.

Meanwhile, a persistent northeast wind will keep skies fair across the Middle Texas Coast.

Expect highs from the upper 80s to lower 90s, with lows in the 60s.
