CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Cool high pressure is beginning to slowly drift off to our east, bringing our string of cool temperatures to a screeching halt this afternoon as we await our next cold front that will arrive later this afternoon and evening.
For today, we'll have lots of sunshine and temperatures will soar into the middle 70s this afternoon with a southwesterly wind around 10-15 mph. Then we'll wait for the front to arrive later this afternoon between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and switch our winds around to the north.
Unfortunately, the front will arrive dry and the chance of rain is just not present. However, it will allow for another cool/chilly night with low temperatures dropping into the upper 30s to low 40s.
Sunshine will continue through Saturday with afternoon highs on Friday and Saturday in the middle 60s and it will be seasonal and very nice with dry air in place.
A weak front will attempt to push into South Texas on Sunday but look for it to stall out just north of us. This may trigger a stray shower or two, but for the most part, look for it to remain dry.
Clouds will slowly increase and temperatures will rise back into the 70s by early next week.
Rain chances will then pick up ahead of the next storm system and the best chances for rain will be late Tuesday and into Wednesday of next week.
Have a great day!
