CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A powerful and persistent upper-level ridge over West Texas will shift slight north over the weekend, allowing deep, layered tropical moisture to bring isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Coastal Bend.

The tropical influence will persist through next week, with isolated showers each day.

Still, another hot and humid day is anticipated for your Friday, with air temperatures in the middle 90s and heat indices between 105 and 109 degrees.

A persistent southeasterly breeze will keep abundant Gulf moisture in place through next week, and with weak waves of instability, we can expect daily doses of isolated showers.

Look for scattered thunderstorms on Saturday, as a slightly stronger upper-level impulse moves through the region.

Highs will remain in the lower-to-middle 90s, with lows from the upper 70s to around 80.
