We continue to be under the influence of cool high pressure, courtesy of last Sunday's early morning cold front, but it is beginning to slowly modify and move away from the area.
Nevertheless, this morning, it is continuing to deliver chilly, cool temperatures with many locations in the 50s under clear skies.
For today, look for more beautiful blue skies and lots of Texas sunshine in the Coastal Bend with highs in the mid to upper 70s for most and a few select inland locations in the lower 80s.
Winds will become breezy at times, but overall, still manageable out of the east-northeast around 10-15 mph. This will result in a Coastal Flood Advisory for later this afternoon into the late evening hours.
Those along the water are urged to use caution as the water could reach the dunes during high tides. Bob Hall Pier and the Port Aransas Jetty high tides will occur around 7-7:15 p.m.
Tonight, temperatures are not forecast to drop quite as low to the cool temperatures we experienced this morning and yesterday morning, but it will still be on the chilly side in the mid to upper 50s. A cool and quiet night is ahead.
Wednesday, the clouds and humidity will be on the increase. That also means afternoon high temperatures will go from the upper 70s to low 80s. We'll also switch our northeasterly component of the wind to more southeasterly.
For the remainder of the week, look for mainly sunny to partly cloudy skies, more humidity and highs in the low 80s. Overnight lows will also rise into the low to mid-60s.
The next frontal boundary we are watching still looks to arrive late Sunday night into early Monday morning. It will bring another small opportunity for some isolated showers, but certainly not a big washout.
We could use more rain as we now stand more than 6 inches below normal in the rainfall department. Either way, cooler and drier air will follow and push highs back in the lower 70s and lows in the 50s.
Have a great day!
