CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — People in the Coastal Bend need to pay very close attention to the weather this weekend.
Tropical Storm Hanna is likely going to strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall.
A hurricane warning has been issued for Nueces, Kleberg, Jim Wells, San Patricio and Aransas counties.
A tropical storm warning has been issue for the surrounding counties.
It's likely we will see sustained winds between 65 and 75 miles per hours. Some gusts will be around 80 miles per hour.
However, it is the rainfall that is expected to cause the real problems for South Texas.
A flash flood watch has also been issued for the entire area.
Most areas are expecting between 4 and 8 inches of rain. Some area could get up to 12 inches of rain.
This is likely to cause flooding in a lot of low lying areas. People are being asked to avoid travel if possible.
