WEDNESDAY NIGHT:
A line of showers and t-storms will move into south Texas after midnight as a cold front approaches. It’s possible that a few strong to severe storms will be in this line with the best chance of severe storms in our inland counties, west of HWY 77. The main severe threat is strong, damaging wind gusts of 58 mph or greater with a lower threat of large hail or an isolated, weak tornado. Rainfall amounts of .10″ to .25″ are likely with locally higher amounts in stronger storms. The line of storms is expected to weaken as it pushes to the coast with rain ending by 8 AM Thursday. Lows will drop into the upper 60s by morning.
THURSDAY- FRIDAY:
Behind the front, much drier air moves in which will lead to clearing skies Thursday morning as winds shift to the west-northwest and become gusty. We’ll have a warm, breezy afternoon Thursday with lower humidity and highs in the low to mid 80s under sunny skies. The low humidity will allow temperatures to fall into the mid 50s, giving us a cool start to the day Friday. As higher pressure builds, winds will relax and we’ll have a great day to get outdoors Friday with sunshine, highs in the mid 80s and a northerly breeze under 12 mph.
