Isolated showers for the weekend

It’s been fairly dry for the last few days, but over the weekend the rain chances look to move back into the forecast.

Saturday and Sunday

A few showers are likely to pop up around the area on Saturday and Sunday. However, it certainly won’t be a washout, and your plans should go on despite a quick passing shower. Most of the day will bring partly cloudy skies, and the breeze will pick up a bit off the Gulf at around 15-20 mph.

Starting next week

By next week, high pressure will still be over the East Coast, and this should allow plenty of moisture to enter our atmosphere. We’ll keep the rain chances around through at least Tuesday. However, they’ll remain isolated and most folks are likely to miss out on the rain.

Tropics Watch

An area of disturbed weather currently sits in the Caribbean and is forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico by next week. Tropical development is now likely as it moves northward, but the currently forecast steering pattern looks to take it to the northern Gulf coast as opposed to the Texas coast. We’ll continue to monitor it just in case. If you have plans along the northern Gulf Coast, you’ll want to have a very close eye on this system.
