Two Texas students are not contagious with coronavirus

It turns out that two Texas students thought to have the coronavirus actually do not.

A Texas A&M student thought to have coronavirus had traveled to China recently, where a deadly strain of the virus is spreading quickly.

And the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District announced on Monday that test results were negative for the novel coronavirus for the Baylor student were sent to the Centers for Disease Control last week.

The disease has now killed at It has now killed at least 80 people worldwide.

Test results have confirmed that neither student is infected with that strain.

Even if they were infected, local health leaders say coronavirus is not much of a threat to our area at this point and the focus here should be on fighting the flu.
