Whataburger has extended its naming-rights deal with the Corpus Christi Hooks for Whataburger Field.

The stadium, which opened in 2005, has been Whataburger Field since its opening.

The new deal was done a year before its expiration and will continue for the next 15 years after that through 2033.

Additionally, the stadium’s roof will be painted in the iconic company’s colors.

Whataburger Field is located on what formerly was an old cotton warehouse built upon Corpus Christi’s waterfront.

The original 15-year naming deal was commissioned when Whataburger Inc., was headquartered in Corpus Christi before the company’s relocation to San Antonio in 2009.

The park, which features 5,050 fixed seats, 19 luxury suites and two outfield berms that are able to accommodate nearly 2,000 fans, is one of the most unique in minor league baseball. Fans are able to see the Texas State Aquarium, the USS Lexington and the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge from inside the ballpark.

We’ll have more information on this breaking story as it is revealed.
