CORPUS CHRISTI –  Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa will join the Corpus Christi Hooks on Tuesday, August 7th for their homestand this week.  The major league shortstop has been recuperating from a back injury and is currently on a rehab stint with the Hooks.

Correa played with the team in Frisco last week against the Roughriders.  He crushed a 445-foot home run to center field in Saturday’s 5-3 setback against the Roughriders.  Correa will play in Tuesday’s game at home against the Tulsa Drillers.  It is unsure how long he will play with the Hooks before he returns to Houston.

The World Series Champion and 2015 American League Rookie of the Year, is batting .268 with 16 doubles, 13 home runs, and 49 RBIs for the Astros this season.
