As part of the "Rebound Coastal Bend," we are bringing together state and local experts to answer your questions regarding the impacts of COVID-19.

The Rebound Coastal Bend KRIS town hall meeting will answer your questions.

Our coronavirus town hall will include Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, City/County health director Annette Rodriguez, CCISD superintendent Dr. Roland Hernadez and other city officials.

You'll hear about testing capabilities, reopening Texas, the latest on schools and how our city plans to rebound.

One of the frequently asked questions from viewers is about unemployment.

We spoke to U.S. Rep. Michael Cloud, who says when it comes to unemployment the first thing is trying to prevent it by offering programs.

"We had the PPP program, paycheck protection program," Cloud said. "The idea there is to give businesses the liquidity that they need to keep people on staff.

"And so, small businesses that are able to keep their employees on payroll will receive a loan that covers that payroll and as they're able to keep them on payroll that loan will be forgiven in the long run."

The broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday and is being possible by the Davis Law Firm. The broadcast will appear on KRIS, KZTV, The CW South Texas, KDF and Telemundo Corpus Christi,

KRIS 6 News anchor Katia Uriarte will host the town hall in English on KRIS, KZTV, The CW South Texa, and KDF. Telemundo Corpus Christi anchor Nina Martinez will host the town hall in Spanish on KAJA.
