CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We all have stories to tell about the very first apartment we lived in.

On tonight’s Troubleshooters report, a woman explains all about the problems she’s having in her first dwelling.

There’s an orange extension cord in Ariana Galvan’s apartment, running from the living room to the kitchen.

She told us she moved in late April. 3 days later, the power went out.

Since then, most of the electrical outlets in her apartment don’t work.

“This one doesn’t work. That one doesn’t work. That one doesn’t work,“ Galvan said as she pointed out the outlets.

She claims management isn’t responding to what could be a dangerous circumstance.

In fact, just last week, she says someone with management told her an electrician would be by to fix the problem.

Since that hasn’t happened, she called us.

“I figured they’re taking advantage of me because I’m young," Galvan told the Troubleshooters, "I need to get somebody they’ll listen to."

So the Troubleshooters went to the front office to try to get help for her.

Galvan says she takes online classes, so not being able to power up and log in to her computer is not good.

“They moved us into a broken apartment, and they’re trying to get as much money out of us until we decide, ok, we’re leaving," she said.

Management says the electrical problem is an AEP issue. In fact, they say AEP fixed it once, but it needs to be fixed again.

And they’ve explained this to Galvan.

An electrician has also been called.

As soon as it gets fixed, we’ll be sure to let you know.
