There’s a new constable in Jim Wells County.
He’s Albert Martinez.
County commissioners approved Martinez as interim Precinct One Constable.
He takes over for longtime Precinct One Constable Juan ‘Chuy’ Salinas, who resigned due to poor health.
Salinas’ last day will be May 31st.
Martinez’s firsy day will be June 1st.
And he will serve till December 2020, which is the rest of Salinas’ term at a annual salary of a little more than $61-thousand-dollars.
