It’s the day after, at Coastal Bend College.
Last night, the college’s board of trustees voted 4-3 on their intent to discharge President Dr. Beatriz Espinoza and put her on administrative leave with pay immediately.
The Troubleshooters obtained a copy of a letter that Board Chair Carroll Lohse sent out today to the Coastal Bend College community.
He writes in part that the procedural steps call for Espinoza to be notified of the board’s decision. Then, she has up to 30 days to respond.
This is standard procedure for a contract employee at the school. In the meantime, the board has scheduled a meeting for 5:30, Monday, April 29th, to identify a transition and interim plan.
Espinoza has been the college’s president since March 2012, but she was not at last night’s board meeting.
