Troubleshooters; Leaning Pole

and last updated

There it is.
On the 400 block of West 4th Street in Bishop.
The leaning pole.

Melissa Anguiano says it’s been like this since before Halloween.
In fact, she says at one point, the wires were just hanging off the pole .
"We’ve already called city hall.  Nothing’s even been done about it.  We’ve been waiting and waiting for months, and nothing’s ever been done," she told the Troubleshooters.

There’s a ribbon on the pole that says ‘Not AEP Texas.’
So if not AEP, who does it belong to ?
We went to city hall to get answers.

"We keep calling.  PD keeps calling.  I mean at least once a week, if not twice a week.  And we have been doing this for 3 or 4 months, and Frontier wont come and take care of the pole.  Wow !"
We spoke with City Manager Cynthia Contreras and Mayor Tim Miller.

They say they’ve put barricades around the pole to keep people away, but they’re gone.
"Has it interrupted anybody’s service in the neighborhood that you can think of ?" we asked Anguiano.  "Electrical ?  phone service ?  Cable ?  Anything ?"

" As far as I know of, no.’

This is dangerous.  Cars drive by.  Kids walk by going to and from school.
Of course, the Troubleshooters contacted frontier communications by phone this afternoon.
They say they’ll contact us early next week to get this resolved.
We’ll let you know as soon as that happens.
