CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) continues to be under fire for the power failures during the "Big Freeze". State leaders are demanding accountability, and among those lawmakers is Congressman Michael Cloud.

Rep. Cloud was in Corpus Christi on Friday to meet with local leaders to find out what he could do for the Coastal Bend in the wake of the Big Freeze.

"Texas usually gets it right. One of the issues we have here is that the leadership of ERCOT is not based in Texas. We need to make sure, at a minimum, that we have people who have Texas interests in mind, that are going to be affected by the decisions that they make," said Rep. Cloud.

The state representative is one of 16 Texas representatives who have sent a letter to ERCOT demanding answers on why millions of Texans were left without power.
