CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man who lost his wife in the El Paso mass shooting is asking the community to help him say goodbye.

Mr. Antonio Basco was married to 63-year-old Margie Reckard for 22 years and they resided in El Paso. Reckard was among the 22 people who were gunned down in a Walmart Super-center on the morning of August 3.

Basco made funeral arrangements with Perches Funeral Home and told them he did not have nearby family to attend. He welcomed any community members to attend and help him honor his wife's life.

Perches Funeral Home posted the invitation on social media and the post went viral. Political figures and community leaders shared the post and support for Basco in his time of despair. The funeral home has since moved the venue to accommodate more people.

The visitation is Friday, August 16 and the burial is Saturday, August 17.
