76 dogs rescued from garage, stacked in soiled cages

76 dogs were rescued after being found stacked in cages in a garage.

Officials say the Fort Bend Animal Services rescued the dogs earlier today in Needville, Texas. According to mysanantonio.com, some of the dogs were found pregnant, 46 of the 76 were puppies, and most of their cages were not cleaned properly.

With the help of the Fort Bend County Sherriff’s Office and the Houston SPCA Cruelty Investigators, the animals were taken to HSCPA officials to receive proper care.

“FBCAS has been working for the past week to ensure that these dogs would be surrendered amicably and that they would be taken to where they could receive treatment and care.” Fort Bend County Animal Services Director Rene Zasquez said in a Facebook post, “They are all currently at the HSPCA with the veterinary staff there.”
