As 600,000 California power customers remain without power due to a planned shutoff to minimize the fire risk, a wildfire in California quickly swept through a mobile home park on Thursday, setting dozens of structures ablaze.

The mobile home park is located in Calimesa, California, which is 70 miles east of Los Angeles. At least 74 structures have been destroyed, according to Riverside County fire officials.

Dry conditions coupled with gusty winds have allowed for ideal fire conditions in the state.

According to local reports, schools had to shelter in place students.

A pair of fires in the Calimesa area have combined to scorch 900 acres, as of Thursday evening.
