Tax season starts later this year

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The tax season will be starting a little later this year.

The Internal Revenue Service will begin accepting tax returns starting Feb. 12 in 2021, instead of its usual start of late January.

The delay allows the IRS to test its systems after Congress passed a second round of stimulus payments in late December.

Some Americans who missed the two payments last year will be able to claim them as they file their taxes this year.
