Savannah, GA (WTOC) – Police arrested a 16-year-old relative after a Savannah Police Department officer and his wife were killed on Wilmington Island Monday morning.
The incident happened on Palmetto Bay Cove. The Chatham County Police Department was called to the home around 6:30 a.m.
When they got there, they found the man dead inside the home. They found the woman next door.
Officials say they both appeared to have been stabbed.
Police arrested the wife’s 16-year-old brother at the scene. He is an unidentifed student in the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools Systems. Police charged him with two counts of felony murder.
Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley did not identify the officer or suspect during a press conference.
