CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Are you looking for a safe and warm place to take the kids trick or treating?
The Robstown First Responders are hosting their Annual Screamtenial Halloween Festival on Thursday at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds.

The Robstown Area Development Commission (RADC), the Robstown Fire Department, and the Sheriff's Office organize the event every year to offer children in the community a safe place to enjoy Halloween. The groups have been putting on the event for the last 13 years. The Robstown Fire Department first held the festival in its back yard until it outgrew the facilities there. Three years ago, the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds offered its facilities for the event. Ludy Vasquez with the fire department says the setting is even more inviting.

"It's a safe place...you know instead of going door to door," said Vasquez,"It's bigger. There are restrooms too. Before, we had to let people into the station to use the bathroom."

The festival will include lots of games, music by a DJ and hotdogs and drinks. Children will also get a chance to win a bike. The department has been collecting donations for the Screamtenial. Several bikes, a scooter and toys will be raffled off.

The Annual Screamtenial Halloween Festival will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The Richard Borchard Fairgrounds is located at 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevardin Robstown.
