Saturday afternoon, Corpus Christi police responded to a robbery at a Stripes convenience store on Leopard Street. According to authorities, a man attempted to steal a can of beer from the store.
The store clerk then tried to stop the suspect, that's when he struck the clerk and ran out of the store .
Moments later, officers spotted the man down the road and took him into custody.
No major injuries were reported.
