PORT ARANSAS, Texas — One person is dead and two are injured after a small plane crash at Mustang Beach Airport on Saturday.
DPS officials confirm the crash happened around 1:18 p.m. There were three people in the airplane.
The pilot of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene and a father and his 8-year-old son were injured and taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital and Doctors Regional Hospital. The father had serious but non-life threatening injuries and the son had non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
The cause of the plane crash is unknown. Federal Aviation Agency investigators will inspect the scene on Sunday, and the National Transportation Safety Board will also investigate the incident.
