A Benavides woman is dead, and two Alice men are in critical condition at a Corpus Christi Hospital following an overnight shooting in Alice.

Police were called to the 1000 block of North Wright Street around 1 a.m., where they found the three adults had been shot.

Alice Police Chief Eden Garcia said the woman, Kirsten Saenz, was shot in the head. Saenz was in her early 30s and a mother of three.

Josue Worsham and Luis Gonzalez were also shot. Both men are from Alice and are in their early 20s.

Garcia said the three victims were hanging out at the residence when alleged suspects - Matthew Garcia and another unnamed man - pulled up through the residence through the alley and began shooting.

The alleged suspect, Matthew Garcia, was arrested by the department in December 2023 for a murder unrelated to Wednesday’s shooting.
