Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales has declared a local disaster as the coastal areas are under the threat of severe weather conditions and flooding as a result of Tropical Storm Nicholas.
The declaration was declared on Monday, September 13, a day after Gov. Greg Abbott ordered the Texas State Operations Center toincrease its readiness to respond to the effects of the tropical storm.
This declaration activates the County emergency management plan.
