CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Residents in the Schanen Estates neighborhood are getting ready for a big party on Saturday. The City's traditional Candy Cane Lane event returns on December 14.

Many residents between Everhart Road, Shea Parkway and McAlpin Road will be participating in the free event this year. The streets will be marked by giant lighted candy canes, candles, and lamp posts along the sidewalks.

What to expect:
As in years past, many of the residents have decorated their homes making them perfect for Instagram moments. Some will also continue to generously handout goodies to visitors. This year, the Jake Ward Band and Stephanie Abriana will provide musical entertainment at the Thomas J. Henry stage located at 6026 McAlpin Street. A participating neighbor will be setting up his food truck and of course Santa Claus and his friends will make a trip along the streets.

Streets will not be closed and are still accessible to traffic. Everhart Road is under construction so be prepared for delays. The best way to view the area is to park in a nearby shopping center or school parking lots and walk to through the streets. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
