INGLESIDE, Texas — After several delays — many of which tied to the pandemic — a spokesperson for the Parc at Ingleside said they anticipate the 8-building apartment complex to open one of their buildings as early as February.

“It’s been years and years in the making,” said Whitney Miller, Marketing Director, SunRidge Management Group, a Dallas-based company. “(The pandemic) did delay us a little bit on our opening, so we’re very excited to be in to a new year and kind of start 2021 right with this gorgeous new community for the people of Ingleside.”

Miller said all construction should be completed by the fall. In total, they will have 192 apartments with 1, 2 and 3-bedroom options.

“This is growth for the city, and it’s good,” said Pat Kilpatrick, a resident who relocated back to Ingleside when she retired in 2011. “This is a nice place to live. Bring it on. Let us grow.”

Although the development of the complex was done without companies like Steel Dynamics Inc. in Sinton or ExxonMobil in Gregory in mind, residents believe their city may reap some of those benefits.

“We have a lot of people moving into the area, and I think those apartments will come in handy,” said Ruben Villarreal, another resident of the city. “I think we’re going to see a lot of big things coming soon to this side of Ingleside. I guess it’d be great for business.”

Miller with SunRidge said the complex isn’t exclusive to any companies, but hopes it will complement the growing city.

“We want to welcome anybody who wants to apply to live at Ingleside, it’s the same rental criteria across-the-board. We will not turn someone away as long as they meet that criteria,” Miller said. “(We want to let) every walk of life, every type of business know that, ‘Hey, we’re open, we’re welcome’. We’re not just for this or that — we’re for everybody.”
