Hondas and Acuras added to Amazon In-Car delivery service

Honda and Acura car owners, you can now take advantage of the Amazon Key In-Car Delivery service. That means you can stop worrying about your Amazon packages being left on your porch vulnerable to porch pirates.

Newer model Honda's and Acura's are now added to the other models that currently work with the service. If you're not familiar with the In-Car Delivery service, it's an option to have your Amazon packages dropped off inside your vehicle whether it's parked at home or anywhere you are at. It's similar to the Amazon Key App for your home. The process works through the Amazon Key App. It's a new addition to Prime Delivery There's no installation of a lock. According to the Amazon guideline, the app allows you to lock and unlock your front car door from your phone. This allows delivery drivers access to drop off packages inside your car while its parked street-level in a publicly accessible space. You just have to be within two blocks of your parked car. Then delivery drivers use a GPS to find your car. Amazon will authorize the drive before your vehicle is unlocked. You lock up your car once your packages are dropped off. Packages will not be delivered to cars parked in garages, with restricted or multi-level or underground garages due to lack of GPS signal for in-car delivery. You can also change your mind and block access via the app.

Other supported models include 2015 model year or newer Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Volvo vehicles with an active connected car service plan such as OnStar or Volvo On Call.
