FALFURRIAS, Texas — An online fundraiser has been created to cover the funeral expenses for the family of Flavio Garza III.
Garza was an Alderman in Falfurrias before he died in a car wreck over the weekend.
"Alderman Garza was a true public servant and cared a great deal about his family, friends and community," The City of Falfurrias posted. "May he rest in peace and that those grieving find comfort."
Flavio's brother Anthony Garza started the fundraiser on GoFundMe.
"My brother was taken unexpectedly sat morning in a accident, he was a kind caring individual that cared for his family and friends, we are asking for donations to help with funeral cost, if you can if not prayer will also help he will be missed and we will cherish the time we had with him and look after his kids," Anthony posted to the fundraiser page.

The two-vehicle accident happened right outside Falfurrias in Brooks County, on US 281 at approximately 3:45 a.m., Jan. 25.
"Preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer (occupied by a male diver only) was traveling north on US 281," said the Texas Department of Public Safety. "A 2015 Dodge Charger passenger car (occupied by a male driver only) was traveling south on US 281. For unknown reasons the driver of the Charger drove off the roadway to the left into the center median and veered onto the northbound lane and US 281 and struck the Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer head-on."
36-year-old Flavio Garza III was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The other person involved was not injured.
