Investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration are expected to look into a plane crash that occurred Wednesday morning in a field off FM 1540 east of Sandia.
The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m.
According to officials at the scene, the plane was taking off when it hit an ant mound or a gopher hole and the plane clipped a tree.
The pilot didn't suffer any life-threatening injuries but was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
