CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As more and more people take vacations with their dogs, they might wonder what the top pet-friendly places are to tour.

According to a recent study by Reviews.com, Corpus Christi ranks in the top 15 percent for best places to visit with your dog.

“Corpus Christi has a ton of pet friendly restaurants and accommodations,” said Lauren Thomas, communication strategist for Review.com.

The research considered and counted things like dog parks, outdoor trails, pet-friendly hotels, dining options and pet care places.

“Parks, beaches, and we included the availability of veterinary care,” said John Puterbaugh, senior editor of Reviews.com. “Doggy dare cares, where you might want to have a trip where you want to be able to do things with the dog but then also have days where you don't do anything with the dog.”

Puterbaugh says they also reviewed factors that might negatively affect your dog’s trip, and took that into account when doing the rankings.

“It's also easy for dogs to become overwhelmed when it comes to certain aspects of certain destinations, like too much traffic or too many people,” said Puterbaugh.

But overall, the city by the sea, earned its place as a great place for your pet to party.

“Corpus Christi is gorgeous,” said Thomas. “In any season, for people to come travel with their dogs it’s not specific to vacation time.”
